San Cipriano

Sant’Antonio

One common thread among practitioners of Italian folk magic/healing is the widespread practice of requesting the intercession of their patron saints. Seasoned practitioners view this as a working relationship with their 'patrone'.

Saint Anthony of Padua is an example of a saint I inherited from my ancestors. My father was named after him and I've always had a working relationship with Sant'Antonio for matters involving my family's health and well-being.

Here follows some vital statistics on Saint Anthony. Maybe this will help you learn more so you will decide to adopt him as…

Patron Saints

In the Italian context, a patron saint is one that firstly man has inherited or adopted either through family, an occupation/trade/profession, or a geographical location, and then over time the saint has proven through their track record of intercession on man's behalf that they are indeed connecting. Only once the saint has proven themselves to be more than a 'one hit wonder' do Italians bestow upon them the honour of 'patrone'. ~Rue Roselli

St. Patrick

I was born in the Connecticut and grew up in Montreal, two locations with a very big St. Patrick culture. It is not uncommon for Italians living in New England to invoke San Patrizio in their protection rituals, especially in Irish-Italian families. Where Saint Michael protects us in battle against supernatural evil, Saint Patrick is invoked when battling against the day-to-day man-against-man evil.

Oh, and I love him because I am terrified of snakes. *shudder*

MICHAEL the Archangel

stmichael1.jpg

In the early 1960's my late father, sculptor by art and by trade carved this 9' marble statue of St. Michael Archangel designed by the late Ferenc Varga, located at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery/Mausoleum in Chicago, Il.

This is the angel that we call upon to remove hexes, malocchio, and protect all that we love against harm, illness, curses and random evil.

It is customary to invoke the name of the Archangel Michael on behalf someone who has consulted…

Archangel Michael Protection Ritual

Angels have been around long before organized religion of any kind. The Archangel Michael represents the element of fire, and fire is the purifier and protector.

Italian witches also know that prevention is the best protection. Be cautious with your hair and nail clippings. Make sure to always take possession of them after a haircut, manicure and or pedicure and then burn them. If your enemy should ever get a hold of them, they can cast evil upon you.

This is a protection charm to carry if you are having…

What are Archangels?

(Greek: ruling angel)

In its wider meaning, any angel of higher rank, thus all the higher orders of angels. Saint Michael, therefore, is called Archangel although he is the prince of the Seraphim. In its more restricted sense, the archangels are those blessed spirits who compose the second choir of the lowest order in the angelic hierarchy (see angel). As distinct from the guardian angels, the archangels are God's messengers to man in matters of graver moment, e.g., Gabriel to the Virgin Mary, Raphael to Tobias; and to the archangels God entrusts the care of persons…

St. Joseph

St. Joseph Real Estate Spell

The solemn tradition of burying St. Joseph in the earth began hundreds of years ago in Europe. During those times, an order of nuns prayed to St. Joseph (the patron saint of the family and household needs) when they needed more lands for convents. The Sisters were encouraged to bury their St. Joseph medals in the ground.

The medals evolved into statues, culminating with the St Joseph Real Estate Kits currently available in Catholic supply stores. Today, thousands of people all over the world continue this successful…
